Heavy Duty Thread Repair & Replaceable Threads

EZ Lok brand Loc-in-Sert thread repair insert lines are also used in new equipment such as dies for plastic injection moulding and metal stamping or punching as well as for other constantly used threads that are subject to wear. In this application they act as a replaceable thread bush just like bearings that are replaced when they wear.

The Loctite bond secures the Loc-in-Sert during the thread insert's useful life and when the thread becomes worn the bond can be fairly easily broken and the Loc-in-Sert removed and replaced with a new one without damaging the parent hole. Loc-in-Sert thread inserts are also useful when a second stage thread repair is needed after threads that have been repaired once using a helical coil or Time-Sert thread insert and the first repair has failed.

How Loc-in-Sert Works

1

Drill & Tap

Use standard drills and taps - no special tools required. The insert has standard UNC or metric exterior threads.

2

Install with Loctite

Micro-encapsulated Loctite on threads activates during installation, creating a secure bond.

3

Replace When Worn

Break the Loctite bond to remove and replace worn inserts without damaging the parent material.
